PROJECT DETAIL

SR15 – Scottish Water Ayrshire Remedials Program on behalf of Caledonia Water Alliance. The investment program commenced on Dec 2015 as an early start due critical and political works being required due to failed PU lining and is currently ongoing which was done in the SR10 program by another contractor. We are completing a variety of diameters from 63mm to 900mmwith huge variance in techniques which included open cut / slip lining / pipe bursting / directional drilling / flushing and lead pipe replacement. The works have present us within complex challenges due to all works being designed as open cut we have value engineered the works and redesigned utilising slip lining and pipe burst therefore giving efficiency and reducing the overall capex budget for the project from 25million to 18 Million.

Project Specific: – Bradan A Ayrshire rehabilitation of distribution water mains approximately 70k of rehabilitation. The pipe diameters ranged from 63mm to 450mm which included open cut / slip lining / pipe bursting / air scouring / directional drilling. The surfaces encountered were carriageway Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3/4 / verge / field / cobbles.

Project Specific: – Bradan B Ayrshire rehabilitation of distribution water mains approximately 50k of rehabilitation. The pipe diameters ranged from 63mm to 450mm which included open cut / slip lining / pipe bursting / air scouring / directional drilling. The surfaces encountered were carriageway Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3/4 / verge / field / cobbles / street scaping.

The works above works have presented us within complex challenges due to all works being designed as open cut due to the chock ages caused by the PU lining including the reputational impact to Scottish Water and public health related issues that have been successfully addressed.

We have however managed to value engineer the works and redesigned utilising slip lining / pipe bursting therefore giving efficiency and reducing the overall capex budget for the project from 25million to 18 Million.
