- Duration: 1 year

Scope: The project was driven by the WIC due to manganese within the existing pipeline which feds approximately 20,000 customers. We installed 1.5k of 600m HPPE and abandoned 1.5k 18” CI and 1.5k 16” CI and completed all associated tie ins, which were completed under pressure and using line stops.
This included us dealing with a large number of stakeholder’s which included interfacing with Scottish Water / Roads Authority / Councils / Schools / Network Rail all at an early stage. We had communication meetings to agree any issues with all parties including having walk in sessions at local community centres.
We also were working on a street with a Member of Parliament who wrote to Scottish Water expressing how a great job Innovative Utilities performed whilst completing the challenging and complex works within an urban environment.
The works were to open cut of a 2km Installation of a 600mm Ductile Iron Trunk Main at Maybole Road. We had to man the site 24/7 working day and night.
The works were on a major road into Ayr which required major traffic management and roads closures.
